16No one has greater sway over Toronto sports than Larry Tanenbaum. As chair of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Tanenbaum oversees the Raptors, Leafs, TFC and Argos. The Raptors went to the conference finals in their best season ever. The Leafs snapped up top prospect Auston Matthews with the first overall pick. TFC made it to the playoffs again. And the always-competitive Argos will soon host the Grey Cup. Even the most pessimistic fan has to admit there’s a faint whiff of hope in the air.
Tanenbaum sits on the board of Mount Sinai Hospital and Right to Play, and he is a major contributor to the United Jewish Appeal.
