31Not everyone agrees with their methods, but there’s no denying that Black Lives Matter Toronto has gripped the public consciousness. The group enjoys getting in the way, like when they stopped traffic at Yonge-Dundas Square, blocked the Pride Parade until its director agreed to a list of demands, caused a ruckus at a police-board meeting, protested outside the Mississauga SIU, camped out front of police HQ and protested at Queen’s Park. They have plenty to celebrate, but most of their demands, from releasing carding data to overhauling the SIU, have yet to be met.
