The history

The massive house, built in 1923, has been in the same family since the 1960s. It wasn’t exactly a rooming house, but the owner had various friends living in different sections of the place for years. When he passed away, his family decided to sell.

The fate

The house closes in November, and the buyer will spend a little time revamping the inside, which is full of well worn wall-to-wall carpeting, dated kitchens (four of them) and dilapidated bathrooms. Then, the extended family is moving in: parents on one floor, buyers and their children on the other floors.

The sale

There were five offers, and they were all close to one another. The two highest were for the exact same amount, but one was conditional and the other wasn’t. The sellers accepted the unconditional offer.
