The little bread-and-pastry shop at 184 Baldwin Street sold its final loaves on August 2, after 17 years in operation. It’s the second longstanding Kensington business to close in a matter of months, the other being nearby butcher Kensington Meats. In a note in the bakery’s window, owner Ping Chiu thanks customers for their support and signs off with the following reminder: “The Kensington Market is turning into a foodie’s haven but remember to support the green grocers. Your vegetable, fish, meat, spice and nut stores all need you to keep going.” Chiu also owns next-door dairy shop Cheese Magic, which is still up and running.
