Donald Sutherland gets (kinda) political at the Forsaken party
Just as in their new western Forsaken, father-son duo Donald and Kiefer Sutherland were the main attraction at last night’s pre-screening party.
Despite a filled-to-capacity crowd at the Ritz-Carlton, the Sutherland clan (including Kiefer’s twin sister, Rachel) cloistered themselves in the corner, spurning platters of mini crab sliders for furtive bites of smuggled-in Harvey’s burgers. Kiefer Sutherland, wearing a tailored jacket over a hoodie, breezed through the crowd and brushed off some well-wishers with a shrug and “call me later” gesture. One guest Kiefer did make time for was director Jon Cassar, with whom he worked on several episodes of 24.
Donald Sutherland brandished an orange NDP pin that read “Harper’s Last Day.” His co-star Aaron Poole (Strange Empire) also talked politics, but shied away from the topic when asked if he was #ReadyForHillary. He was beaming: he’d just signed a new movie deal, about which his agent implored him to remain tight-lipped.
