Earlier this year, news broke that Canada would have its own version of The Bachelor, featuring blandly attractive football player Brad Smith’s quest for marital bliss. The show itself doesn’t start until October 3 (only 35 days to go), but in a bid to generate some pre-season excitement, the producers are revealing five of the bachelorettes every Wednesday for the next five weeks. The first crop of ladies hoping to find love and/or reality television notoriety includes two Torontonians (one of whom is nicknamed “Bubba”), as well as a pastor and a Playboy model. Does that kind of range augur a season of high-drama clashes to come? We sure hope so. Using our encyclopedic knowledge of seasons past, we set out to predict just how each of these ladies will fare (and attempted to determine the nearest celebrity look-alike).
