Bar Ape, Toronto’s first gelato truck, is now a gelato parlour

For the last two summers, Bar Ape’s (that’s pronounced “ah-pay”) adorable gelato bar on wheels has roamed the city’s streets selling gourmet gelato bars. Now, co-owners James Carnevale and Nick Genova have opened a bricks-and-mortar parlour in St. Clair West, and they’ve added small-batch fruit sorbet and soft serve to the menu. The cash-only operation is open until Thanksgiving. Here’s a look at some of their frozen confections.

There are always two different soft-serve gelato flavours available (three, if you include the twist), with flavours inspired by what their farmer supplier has available. An Ontario golden plum and chamomile twist is shown here. $5.
