The Toronto Maple Leafs are still the most expensive ticket in the league
—The average cost, in U.S. dollars, of taking a family of four to a Toronto Maple Leafs game, including food, beverages, parking, programs and souvenir hats. (In Canadian dollars, it’s roughly $654.) According to Team Marketing Report, which calculated this figure as part of its latest fan cost index, that’s the highest price in the NHL. The league average for all the same stuff—beer, hats, etc.—is just $363.58 U.S.
I know of a family, two adults with two young boys drive to Buffalo to watch the Leafs play there. The cost of the drive, four tickets in the lower level, food, drinks at the game including an overnight stay in a nice, mid-level priced hotel is cheaper than taking the boys to the game at the ACC. How ridiculous is that!! My in-laws spend their winters in Florida and you can catch the Leafs play the Tampa Bay Lightening for $25.00 per ticket.
