Put Rosh Hashanah, a rabbi and Rob Ford together for two minutes of extreme awkwardness

Rosh HaShana in 6! with Rabbi Moshe Steiner and Mayor Rob Ford from waynekurtz on Vimeo.

Rob Ford has a storied history of awkward moments including, but not limited to, forgetting a DUI conviction, coaching football during an interview, allegedly flipping off a mother and child while driving and talking on his cell (plus his publicist’s deranged stonewalling) and, most recently, having to quash his brother’s waterfront plans. Add to that list this surreal video of Ford learning about Rosh Hashanah that made the rounds on the Internet late last week. Our favourite moment: about a minute in, the mayor visibly struggles to avoid chomping into a honey-dipped apple before a rabbi finishes his blessing. Thank goodness he wasn’t learning about Yom Kippur—the fast would probably kill him.
