Clocktower Bar is a new cocktail spot from the Boxcar Social team

The owners of Boxcar Social—Summerhill’s coffee, whiskey and craft beer experts—have taken over the other half of their Victorian building to open Clocktower Bar, the neighbourhood’s newest cocktail spot. The menu offers subtle updates to the classics: an old fashioned, for example, is sweetened with smoked maple syrup, and their negroni gets a savoury hit from a pink salt tincture. There’s also a section of the cocktail list made up of boozy drinks that are also caffeinated, like the London Fog that combines earl grey–infused gin, Galliano, blueberry blossom honey and egg white. Snacks are limited (assorted meats and cheeses), but manager Ryan MacLeod says that they’re going to host weekend barbecues on the leafy back patio they share with Boxcar.
