As was rumoured earlier this summer, Nordstrom is indeed planning to open four department stores in Canada (meaning Canadians will finally be able to take part in the legendary anniversary sale). This morning, the retailer confirmed it has signed leases for former Sears locations in Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa, and for a new store in Toronto’s Sherway Gardens. However, Toronto shoppers have a long wait ahead, as the stores will also open in that order, starting with Calgary in 2014. The plan is to eventually open up to nine stores in Canada—unless a Bloomingdale’s–Hudsons’s Bay Company partnership beats them to the punch. [CTV]
