After two years and more than a little controversy, the trendy mass-market giant finally arrived in Canada. Now open: locations in East York Town Centre, Centrepoint Mall, Shoppers World Danforth, Cloverdale Mall and Square One Shopping Centre.

Tiger of Sweden The popular European maker of slim-cut suits and minimalist separates opened a spacious flagship on Ossington Avenue catering to young professionals of both sexes. Learn more »

Gerhard Supply This Junction men’s store has a made-in-Toronto mandate. Expect rugged-chic clothes by the likes of Philip Sparks, Outclass and Muttonhead, plus a range of shaving and skincare products. Learn more »

That’s Italy Inspired by Milan’s shopping district, the 14,000-square-foot store contains over 40 in-shop boutiques, as well as an Italian café. Italian labels for both men and women include Laura Biagiotti, Fugato, Gaetano Navarra and Jeckerson, all of which are available in Canada for the first time.

• Yorkdale Shopping Centre announced a spate of openings for 2013, including the first Toronto locations for seven global brands: AllSaints, David Yurman, John Varvatos, Mulberry, White House Black Market, Zara Home and Ferragamo. Learn more »

• International labels haven’t forgotten about Yorkville, though. Dolce and Gabbana, Stuart Weitzman and Kate Spade are all coming to the tony area in the months ahead. Learn more »

Kleinfeld, the bridal store made famous by TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress, is slated to open a 20,000-square-foot flagship in The Bay on Queen Street in 2014. Learn more »

• Suitsupply, an Amsterdam-based menswear label with a reputation as “the Ikea of designer suits,” is launching its first Canadian outpost in Yorkville this fall. Learn more »

• British retailer Topshop is reportedly opening a men’s and women’s store in The Bay at Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre in October. Learn more »

• Designer institution TNT (short for The New Trend) is adding a fourth Toronto location this fall, a 5,500-square-foot store at Bayview Village Shopping Centre.

• The Distillery District is the home to Canadian shoe designer John Fluevog’s second Toronto store, set to open by the end of May.
