The house that sold at 298B Sackville Street
Listed At
$729,000
Sold For
$729,000

Address: 298B Sackville Street

Neighbourhood: Cabbagetown

Agent: Michael O’Brien, Bosley Real Estate Ltd., Brokerage

The Property: This three-storey townhouse is on an unusual lot: it’s accessible only through a three-foot alleyway between two houses that face Sackville Street. As a result, it has a quiet front yard. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated.

The History: The house was built in 2000 by the owner of one of the homes out front. The sellers, who purchased the house in 2012, renovated the kitchen when they moved in and recently closed off the master bedroom to create more privacy. They put the property on the market so they could move to a more bucolic setting.

The Fate: The new owners won’t have much renovating to do, and they got what many would consider to be an amazing deal: a single-family home near the downtown core for under $800,000. (Now let’s hope all their furniture fits down that alleyway.)

The Sale: The selling agent chose not to hold back offers, because of the home’s irregular lot. After an agents’ open house, the sellers received one offer at asking—$729,000. They accepted immediately.

By The Numbers:

  • $729,000
  • $4,482.35 in property taxes (2015) | 1,500 square feet, approximately | 100 per cent of list price | 19 x 155-foot lot | 2 bedrooms | 2 bathrooms | 1 day on the market | 0 parking spaces
