The history

The unit is one of four penthouses atop the 40-storey Vela at Harbour View Estates tower, built in 2005. In a former life, the place was featured in season 4 of Sarah Richardson’s HGTV show, Design Inc. It’s typically leased to professional athletes, and is currently being repainted and having its marble re-polished in preparation for the next tenant (it becomes available July 1).

Major perks

As members of the Harbour View Estates “superclub,” tenants have access to 30,000 square feet of amenities, including a gym, massage spa, Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court and bowling lanes. Plus, getting on the Gardiner literally takes less than a minute.

Possible deal breaker

The balcony has a great view and is set for a small barbecue dinner, but at 95 square feet, it’s too cramped for a true party.

By the numbers

• $8,500 per month • 1,935 square feet • 10-foot ceilings • 3 bedrooms • 3 bathroom • 2 parking spots • 1 balcony • 1 locker
