The place

A five-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion in Etobicoke, steps from the Humber River. The home sits on a ravine-access lot and has an attached three-car garage with room for 12 more cars in the driveway. It’s a short drive from the 427, a quick bus ride from Royal York station and a five-minute walk from the future Eglinton Crosstown.

The history

The house was built in 1995 and renovated in 2012. Former NHL player Michael Del Zotto, of Stouffville, purchased it in 2016, adding his own amenities, such as a backyard pergola. He sold the property five years later.

The tour

Here’s the foyer, with 20-foot ceilings and a glass staircase.

Note the glass-railing staircase.

To the left of the foyer is this office, which used to be a living room. That railing above the gas fireplace is for the staircase landing.

The former living room is set up as an office.

In the family room: another gas fireplace, wedged into a feature wall with a built-in TV and sound system. There’s oak hardwood flooring throughout the main floor.

How about a walk-in closet?

The ensuite bathroom has a jumbo shower with two ceiling-mounted rainfall heads and a built-in marble bench set against a marble wall.

Even the main ensuite has a great view.

Opposite the shower is a U-shaped Caesarstone quartz vanity centred around a makeup station.

And how about a temperature-controlled wine cellar with room for 100 bottles?

Here’s the grotto-like backyard as viewed from the house: more than enough space to host an entire hockey club.

Of course, there's a waterfall.

This is the second outdoor lounge, accessed from the billiards room, featuring a TV and JBL speakers.

The outdoor TV is a nice touch.
