The Dish Power Rankings: we’re back edition

After a spring hiatus, The Dish Power Rankings have returned for summer. Charles Khabouth’s outrageous adult playground is in the top spot, and two former 90210 stars are spotted in the city.

1. Cabana Pool Bar The new Miami-style pool and bar for swimming, sunbathing and day-drinking can house up to 2,500 people, including scantily clad servers (yes, that’s their work uniform) and reporters with video cameras.

2. Bar Isabel Grant van Gameren’s Little Italy restaurant is packed all night long. There’s a single table available before 10 p.m. this weekend and nothing next. The following weekend is already almost full, too.

3. THR&Co. The new spot from the team behind The Harbord Room is booked solid until next week.

4. Yours Truly The Ossington strip restaurant started serving late-night snacks and drinks again on Mondays and Tuesdays. The result: a full house every night.

5. Uniun The giant nightclub hosted a post-Much Music Video Awards bash where show host Psy was spotted partying late into the night.

6. Bent Power couple Galen and Alexandra Weston and friends took a communal table at Susur Lee’s Dundas West restaurant.

7. Valdez The new King Street Latin American restaurant food from Top Chef Canada alum Steven Gonzales opened two weeks ago and has been crushed ever since.

8. Origin Bayview The third instalment of Claudio Aprile’s Origin franchise is open in the city’s northern end after three weeks of buzz-building pop-up stands.

9. Marben Former 90210 heatthrob and the recent star of David Mamet’s Race Jason Priestley had a bite at the bar.

10. The Harbord Room Kevin Kwan, the author of hottest summer beach read Crazy Rich Asians, had dinner while in town for a book tour. We hope he ordered the burger.

Honourable Mentions: Another former 90210 star turned up in Toronto: Shinan Govani spotted Tori Spelling at Queen Street East women’s club Verity. Willem Dafoe, in town for The Life and Death of Maria Abramovic, showed up at The Shore Club for Laurie Anderson’s Luminato after-party.
