More details are emerging on the new restaurant from the owners of The Harbord Room. In early May, THR & Co. will open its doors in the space that previously housed Messis, the Harbord strip’s long-running continental restaurant. Managed by Harbord Room bartender Liz Campbell, the new spot will be nearly three times larger than the original—70 seats inside and 70 seats outside—and will serve pizzas, pastas and sharing plates inspired by the flavours of Spain, Italy and North Africa. Harbord Room chef de cuisine Curt Martin is taking over the kitchen at the new restaurant, and will be replaced at the old one by Ursa’s Jonathon Lucas. Cory Vitiello, the restaurants’ stylish executive chef, will oversee both.
