Thanks to Actual Water, The Burger’s Priest now has its very own hymn
The devotion of The Burger’s Priest fans can be so fanatical that it was only a matter of time before one of them composed a hymn to the almighty Queen East roadhouse (the devotion, of course, is by no means universal, judging by our commenters). Fucked Up guitar player Ben Cook tipped us off yesterday that local lo-fi punk rockers Actual Water had done just that with their seven-inch single “She’s a Priest,” which Cook produced. The chorus will resonate with anyone who’s waited half an hour for their freshly ground, loosely packed taste of heaven on a buttery bun: “Fry, fry baby / Every time you come you blow my mind / Fry, fry baby / Everybody’s just dyin’ to try / Everybody’s just waitin’ in line.” Incidentally, astute Dish readers will remember Cook from his on-camera turn in Fucked Up’s “Do You Feed,” which was a tribute to the bounty of Little India. We wonder what East End institution will be next. An elegy for Red Rocket, perhaps?
