Restaurant super-power SIRCorp, owner of downtown spots Far Niente and Four and mega-chain Jack Astor’s, is launching another Reds Wine Tavern. In October, the original Bay Street power restaurant underwent a successful make-under, swapping upscale plates for more casual pub food, and the new location will follow a similar formula. The announcement of the second space suggests Reds could be ramping toward becoming a larger chain in order to compete with more casual financial district newcomers, like West Coast imports Earls and Cactus Club. The new restaurant is slated to open in the bottom of the 78-storey Aura condos at Yonge and Gerrard in late summer or early fall. [PostCity]
