MSTRKRFT and Jay Ferguson make the Hart beat for Vice Magazine’s TIFF party

Even the most devout hipsters can’t avoid the TIFF craze—hordes of them attended Vice Magazine’s annual Festival Ball at Hart House on Thursday. Though the celebs sighted are locals—we spotted MSTRKRFT, singer Gentleman Reg and Sloan’s Jay Ferguson with Eye Weekly critic Stuart Berman (a.k.a. anyone you might see at Wrongbar on a Friday night)—these folks might be a lot more popular among this crowd than, say, Jennifer Aniston or Patrick Dempsey.

Crystal Castles was the not-so-secret guest star, finishing the night off under the watchful eye of portraits of old men in suits in the Great Hall.

Why is Hart House hosting such a boozefest, with free drinks, CK One and Vitaminwater samples? Should they act their age and stick to hosting luncheons and Remembrance Day ceremonies?

Nah, because until the beer ran out, this was likely one of the most fun parties in the city.—Melita Kuburas
