Get Melted is Toronto’s newest “vapour lounge,” meaning it’s a place where cannabis consumers can go to enjoy their own bud. Unlike some of the city’s other social toking centres (there are now seven in total, according to the Toronto Star), the Church Street café isn’t a foggy den plastered with pot-leaf posters. It’s geared toward a more mainstream clientele, with food and drinks that should appeal to tokers and non-tokers alike—a savvy business move at a time when public support for marijuana decriminalization has never been stronger. The menu lists nine pressed cheese sandwiches ranging in complexity from basic cheddar on white bread to a brie-and-pear melt on cinnamon-raisin. Some less-conventional items—like a grilled cheese made with two halves of a glazed doughnut—may appeal particularly to THC-enhanced appetites.
