With the rise of high-quality cell phone cameras and inexpensive DSLRs, Torontonians have become utterly shameless about taking photos of their dinner, and chefs have followed suit, sending out a steady stream of artfully composed Instagrams of their latest creations. This Friday, The Dish launches a new weekly series celebrating the most gorgeous, hunger-inducing images from diners, chefs and home cooks. Here’s how to take part:

• Take a beautiful photograph of your meal (both restaurant dishes and home-cooked meals are welcome) • Add your photo to our Flickr group, hashtag it #TLFoodPhoto or send a link to foodphoto@torontolife.com (the photo must be from the current week) • Make sure to include a short description

Each Friday, we’ll post our favourite photo here on The Dish. Just try not to annoy your fellow patrons when you’re shooting your masterpiece.
