Daria takes our mind off TIFF for a flash

Since there haven’t been nearly enough celeb photo opportunities this week at TIFF, CTV held its annual Walk of Fame gala, diverting traffic for blocks around King and University and raising many a middle finger.

With grace, poise and catlike eyes, model Daria Werbowy braved the Walk with an injured foot. No one can pull off strutting down a red carpet with one foot bound in a ski boot–like contraption with as much sex appeal as Daria, the youngest Canuck to be honoured with a star this year.

Hoping to get some insider advice, we asked Daria what her favourite fashion trends are for fall, but unfortunately her answer, “I didn’t do fall last year,” didn’t give us much direction.

Despite her success on the runway and as the face of Lancôme, we can’t help but wonder if Daria was inducted to pretty up the group of this year’s inductees—including James Cameron, k.d. lang and the Kids in the Hall cast—for the cameras.

And, in the end, Elmer Olsen’s golden goose was as ravishing as we predicted. Bending down to pose with her plaque, Daria nearly flashed a sea of corporate suits lining University, though somehow we doubt anyone would have objected.—Jen McNeely
