There’s likely no better way to spend a late-summer Saturday afternoon than at a garden party at a lush Rosedale estate. Particularly when the entertainers include Chantal Kreviazuk and Arcade Fire and the guest list bears names like Alexander Skarsgård, Milos Raonic and Ian Somerhalder (who we’re pretty sure is Rob Lowe’s long-lost brother). Did we mention the open bar? Such was the glory of this weekend’s Artists for Peace and Justice party, co-hosted by Oscar-winning writer Paul Haggis, producer Trudie Styler (husband Sting sadly not in tow) and a perfectly coiffed Jude Law (who ended up being one of the last to arrive—possibly the result of being out too late the night before at Soho House?).

The event got off to a bumpy start as Kreviazuk—channelling her inner schoolmarm—admonished the crowd for chatting loudly during her song and suggested she couldn’t play over the noise. (Sorry, Chantal, but when guests are paying over $1,000 per ticket to get in, we’re pretty sure they can do whatever, whenever they want.) The afternoon’s highlight, though, was the back-to-back sets from K’naan and Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne. It was especially endearing to see Jude Law bopping along to “Take a Minute” and “Sprawl II.” Then again, when you’re as dreamy as Law, we’re pretty sure it’s endearing when you do just about anything.
