Michelle Obama (yep, that one) taps Toronto-based Fit2Dance for a nationwide obesity-correcting fitness initiative

Toronto-based Fit2Dance will join forces with Michelle Obama (sort of) to present at Obama’s Let’s Move In Schools initative at the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance National Convention and Exposition (whew!) in Boston March 13-17. The initiative is designed to help reduce the childhood obesity rate in the States, using dance to help kids build life skills like “creativity, risk-taking and community building.” It’s a far cry from our days of doing half-hearted choreography to “Hand’s Up” in grade four gym class, but if dancing in school is good enough for Beyonce, it’s probably good enough for us (and children).
