CONFIRMED: Food trucks are coming to TIFF this year

It seems just about any big public festival worth its salt needs a little food truck representation these days, and TIFF is no different. This year, it’s partnering with Mark Macdonald and his Toronto Food Trucks site to set up a selection of goodies on wheels outside the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema. On the roster so far: Blue Donkey Streatery, Caplansky’s Deli Truck, Buster’s Sea Cove and more. Those familiar with the travails of food trucks in Toronto may wonder how it’s possible that they’ll be allowed to park and sell food curbside. TIFF spokesperson Geneviève Parent told the Toronto Star that the festival will be getting a lane closure permit, which will open up space for them. Crafty.

UPDATE: Toronto Food Trucks has released a schedule: three trucks, every day (except TIFF’s last, when there will only be two), will be slinging their fare from 7 p.m. till midnight.
