With the disheartening number of animals left in cars during this week’s heat wave, we needed something to renew our faith in our fellow Torontonians. It came in the form of Max Sidorov, a Toronto nutritionist who took to the Internet to help a complete stranger. While browsing Reddit, Sidorov stumbled across a video of 68-year-old bus monitor Karen Klein being viciously bullied by students from Athena Middle School in Greece, New York. Sidorov, having once been the victim of elementary school bullies, thought Klein was deserving of a vacation, and set up an account on Indiegogo.com to raise funds for it. The original goal was a modest $5,000. At the time of this post, over $508,000 had been donated—enough, Sidorov hopes, that Klein can take early retirement. Bless. [CP24]
