AllSaints is known for skillfully adapting hipster looks for mainstream shoppers, making the English retailer one of the more highly anticipated new arrivals to Yorkdale Mall. While the brand’s subtly pre-aged clothing for both men and women feels best suited for late nights on Ossington (think frayed denim, battered leather jackets and thin layering tanks), its first Canadian store also carries some polished blazers and pretty draped dresses for professionals with an edge. What the 6,000-square-foot space doesn’t have, however, is any colour—faded shades like charcoal, cream and putty reign, and even the bathing suits are all black or grey.

The brand makes a point of keeping the stock and decor consistent across in all its locations, so anyone who has visited one of the stores in the U.K., U.S. or Europe will recognize the dark, steampunk atmosphere, with plenty of exposed brick and racks made from pipe fittings. Should the physical store seem too intimidatingly cool (the shop assistants all look like they’ve stepped out of a street style blog), AllSaints has also launched a Canadian online store, with free standard shipping across the country.
