Showing at 1 p.m. on a Tuesday isn’t exactly going to guarantee attendance from society types or fame-hungry bloggers (hey, everyone needs a day job), but Denis Gagnon showed a strong fall/winter collection that the aforementioned party people will be kicking themselves for missing. See photos, our review and (paltry) scene coverage after the jump.

Showing a lineup of more wearable pieces than in his goth-inspired seasons past (don’t fret, there were still a few options for creatures of the night), Gagnon trotted models out in Rainbow Brite chiffon T-shirts and soft, flouncy pleated skirts accented with leather inserts and zipper details. The result was Black Swan meets Party Monster meets Mad Max, and we liked it—nay, loved it. Jackets were strong and structured with fur, leather and again, plenty of zippers. We loved the styling of his zip dresses—slightly undone, giving women different styling options, like an infinitely cooler Infinite Dress. We also thought it was vaguely nostalgic to see the soothers and PLUR of ’90s rave days making a comeback in Denis’s hometown of Montreal. Sadly, Emily Valentine was not available for comment.
