Intermix CEO Khajak Keledjian confirms retail space for late August, early September launch

Fast-growing retailer Intermix was originally rumoured to be opening its first Canadian location for fall 2011, but Khajak Keledjian says he intends to unveil the space at 130 Bloor St. W. (formerly Lululemon) in late August or early September to meet any pre-TIFF fashion demands. For now, details on who will be carried are being kept quiet, but Keledjian hinted at a breadth of exclusives from Proenza Schouler, Diane Von Furstenberg, Helmut Lang and Olivier Theyskens. “Our team is always looking for emerging designers,” Keledjian said, nodding to some international buying power at next season’s LG Fashion Week. Toronto’s first Intermix and its first big buyer at fashion week? We have fashion clout? Suddenly it would seem that Toronto is in the mix.
