Holt Renfrew is reinforcing its dominance on Bloor Street. Not one to sit quietly by while American heavyweights like Saks and Nordstrom storm Toronto’s high-end retail scene, the luxury goods destination is opening a menswear boutique down the road from its downtown flagship. According to the Globe and Mail, Holts is close to finalizing leasing agreements for the spaces currently occupied by Roots and The Body Shop. The expansion is great news for dapper Yorkville men, whose shopping options on the strip have been somewhat limited up to now. It’s less great news for Harry Rosen, located directly next door, which will no doubt be the new boutique’s biggest competition.
