This Lytton Park home is currently going for $5.5 million

Neighbourhood: Lytton Park
Price: $5,588,000 Size: 5,290 square feet Bedrooms: 4+1 Bathrooms: 6 Parking spots: 6 Real estate agents: Diana Oachis and Laith Awamleh, Keller Williams

The place

A four-plus-one-bedroom, six-bathroom uptown detached off Avenue Road. The home is equipped with a heated two-car garage, a two-zone HVAC system and smart-home automation, which includes a security camera system and integrated speakers. It’s within walking distance of the businesses along Lawrence, Chatsworth Ravine and Lawrence station. And motorists are a short drive from both Allen Road and Bayview Avenue.

The history

Graystone Development purchased the three-bedroom house that once stood on this lot in 2016, tore it down and built this new luxury dwelling. The current owners—a family of five—bought the property in 2021 and spent another $400,000 upgrading, including new millwork and state-of-the-art smart-home tech.

The tour

The illuminated driveway leads to the heated porch. There’s an automated sprinkler system for the lawn and planters.

The driveway has built-in lighting.

In the foyer, there are heated porcelain floors and a 300-bottle temperature-controlled wine wall.

Part of the foyer was once an office, but now it serves as a lounge and display.

This space could be converted back into an office.

Also in the foyer is this powder room, with a marble vanity and a drop ceiling.

Also in the foyer: this powder room.

Don’t forget this lounge, which does double duty as a mudroom.

Down the hall is the jumbo open-concept family room and kitchen. Those floors are white oak and can be found throughout the home.

There are oak floors throughout.

A gas fireplace with a floor-to-ceiling marble surround anchors the family area. It also has built-in storage, a media centre, motorized shades and two sneaky windows that are actually doors to the backyard.

Now for the kitchen and breakfast area.

The kitchen is huge.

The kitchen is lined with Gaggenau appliances (including both a wall-mounted oven and a speed oven) and Laminam stone surfaces. There’s also a vacuum inlet embedded into the kitchen island that activates with the push of a toe, a pot filler, storage galore and designer fixtures.

This is the dining room, which sits on the other side of that wine wall and overlooks the neighbourhood. It has another gas fireplace and a slatted wood feature wall.

Between the kitchen and the dining room is this servery and wet bar, complete with a built-in Gaggenau wine fridge.

A peek into the servery.

The servery sits next to one of the home’s highlights: the sculptural ribbon staircase.

The ribbon staircase is a showstopper.

The second-floor landing has a large skylight and a funky grasscloth wallpaper feature. Each of the four bedrooms on the upper level comes with its own ensuite bathroom.

That feature wall on the left is glasscloth.

Here’s the main suite.

In the main bedroom: one wacky ensuite.

From the bed, you can take in the custom closets and the Vegas-like vanity with a curved LED mirror in the ensuite bathroom.

The makeup station something you might find in Vegas.

In the main ensuite: floor-to-ceiling porcelain walls plus a double vanity with integrated sinks.

The walk-in closet is equipped with a mini island, a skylight and more bespoke storage.

The walk-in closet even has an ensuite.

This is one of the secondary bedrooms. Its built-in desk and closet help maximize space.

It also has an ensuite, with a walk-in shower and another LED-lit mirror.

Here’s a peek inside another bedroom. Its embedded shelves are a nice touch.

The floating bookshelves are a nice touch.

And here’s that bedroom’s ensuite.

Moving to the basement reveals the lounge, wet bar and fireplace. A projector descends from the ceiling here, turning the room into a theatre.

Here’s the three-piece basement bathroom.

The basement is also equipped with a glass-walled wine cellar—though it’s not temperature-controlled and could easily be refashioned into a new space.

The wine cellar could be converted into another amenity.

There’s a laundry room down here as well.

Everyone has laundry needs, even in Lytton Park.

Stepping into the backyard highlights the flagstone deck, accessed from the family room.

The deck is flagstone.

Lastly, here’s a view of the backyard, fully enclosed by a cedar fence. The current owners think of this as a place to host parties, with a plunge pool, an outdoor kitchen and a cabana.

A cabana will soon be coming to the backyard.
