This four-bedroom, eight-bathroom Rosedale standout on a quiet tree-lined street comes with a double-sided elevator, a walk-in wine cellar with a secret door, and a starlit basement movie theatre with its own snack bar. It’s within walking distance of Summerhill station, half a dozen parks and many ravines. And motorists are a short drive from Bayview and the DVP.

The property evokes the Musée d’Orsay, but it was designed as a family home in 2023 by architect Stan Makow, with the help of the Saazé Building Group. Together, they delivered a massive luxury residence. New builds are rare in Rosedale, so the team worked hard to create an exterior that would fit the neighbourhood’s old-world aesthetic—while trimming every corner of the interior.
The neo-Georgian façade is primarily red brick and limestone. There’s space for six vehicles in the heated driveway as well as one car in the garage, with enough height to add a car lift.
Here’s the grand entrance, with classic checkerboard floors, black trim everywhere and venetian plaster—a textured, shimmering finish.
A reverse angle highlights the curved staircase and custom sconces with space beneath them to hang art. It was important for Makow to have an uninterrupted view from the front door to the back door.
Stairs aren’t the only option for moving on up: the mansion also comes with this double-sided elevator that connects the garage with all three floors.
Just off of the foyer is this front living room, complete with a gas fireplace and bespoke croissant-esque wall lights. Take a closer look at the unique herringbone French white-oak floors: the rounded corners of each slat echo the home’s curvy motifs.
In the French-inspired kitchen: marble counters and high-end appliances, including a custom-coloured La Cornue stove. That arched window on the left is meant to serve as a breakfast nook overlooking the backyard’s gardens.
The ceiling soars to a staggering 23 feet in the giant family room just off the kitchen. Its doors lead to the back patio for those who want to dine alfresco.
Now for the first of many elegant bathrooms. This one comes clad entirely in emerald onyx, a stain-resistant alternative to marble. Even the squiggle mirror frame and vanity drawers are made of it.
For those working from home, the office is equipped with lit bookshelves and a private side entrance.
Heading upstairs reveals the second-floor landing. Think James Turrell meets the Guggenheim: curved walls and an ocular skylight.
Residents can gaze down into the family room and kitchen from this archway.
The main bedroom has a built-in headboard flanked by tall backlit mirrors, which create the illusion of more space. There’s also another fireplace on the left and a balcony overlooking the backyard.
This is the main walk-in closet, with soft-close cabinets.
The walk-in flows directly into this six-piece ensuite bathroom lined with rare pistachio onyx.
Here’s one of the secondary bedrooms, complete with a sunny south-facing view of the neighbourhood. Each bedroom has its own walk-in closet and ensuite.
Check out the brilliant natural stone along this bathroom’s floor and shower, giving the room a mesmerizing sense of fluidity.
Down in the basement, the ceilings hit 10 feet. There are also more rich black finishes, ornate mouldings, Venetian plaster and curves, of course.
Here’s the movie theatre—admittedly a stylistic departure. It comes with a starry ceiling and a tiered floor.
The walk-in wine cellar, outfitted with a terrazzo floor, has warm custom millwork and smoked glass. That notched shelf is actually a secret swing door leading to a cold storage space for keep-away bottles (and mystery). And on the right is a petite snack bar for the movie theatre.
Meanwhile, the gym comes with recessed lighting, epoxy floors and floor-to-ceiling mirrors for ensuring that perfect squat form.
Last stop in the basement: this rec room, ideal for hosting. It has a wet bar and access to the backyard.
And here’s that backyard, equipped with a full outdoor kitchen with a Hestan grill, a fridge, a fireplace and a snow-melting system.
