Condo of the Week: $445,000 for a Cinema Tower unit with a quintessential Toronto view
Address: 21 Widmer Street, Unit 2410
Neighbourhood: Waterfront Communities-The Island
Agents: Yannick Picard, Sutton Group Associates Realty Inc., Brokerage
Price: $445,000
The Place: A compact one-bedroom halfway up the Cinema Tower, with a balcony offering the quintessential Toronto view (CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Lake Ontario).
Big Selling Point: Not only is the unit a 10-minute walk from the middle of the financial district, it’s also walking distance from just about every conceivable form of entertainment. The Art Gallery of Ontario, Thompson Hotel, Four Seasons Centre and Rogers Centre are all less than 15 minutes away by foot. Roy Thomson Hall, the Royal Alex and the TIFF Bell Lightbox are even closer, and Ivan Reitman’s restaurant, Montecito, is just downstairs.
Bragging Rights: For days when the owner can’t be bothered to make use of the neighbourhood, the building itself has plenty of entertainment options. There’s a screening room, a lounge and party room, a full-court gymnasium and a light-filled fitness centre with a steam room and hot tub.
Possible Deal Breaker: There isn’t enough room for a dining table, so big dinner parties are out. There is, however, a good-sized quartz island that can fit up to four stools.
By the Numbers:
• $445,000
• $386 in monthly maintenance fees
• 617 square feet
• 105-square-foot balcony
• 43-storey building
• 1 bedroom

307398 Nobody loves Planes, Trains and Automobiles enough to spring for a framed poster, so we're going to say this is the work of a theme-obsessed stager. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-2-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-2.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-2.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-2/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-2 0 0
307399 And now we have posters for an obscure Arnold Schwarzenegger movie and one of the Timothy Dalton Bond films. This is real cinephile stuff, right here. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-3-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-3.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-3.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-3/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-3 0 0

307401 And oh yes, who among us hasn't seen Ironweed, the Academy Award–losing classic from 1987? Its poster is hanging here in the kitchen, which has a good-sized quartz-topped island with room for a few stools. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-5-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-5.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-5.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-5/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-5 0 0

307406 The Cinema Tower also has a bunch of nice amenities, including this screening room. https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-10-150x150.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-10.jpg https://torontolife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-10.jpg 1200 800 [] https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street/slide/toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-10/ toronto-condo-of-the-week-21-widmer-street-10 0 0
This is truly heinous. Look at how cheap the floors look? So plastic-y. Condos are so depressing.
The living room looks about the width of a subway car. In the last few years, the downtown condo developments have basically become dorm rooms.
Horrific and what a waste of space with that hallway. It’s a matchbox for that price to say you live downtown ? Madness.
Not enough bedrooms: must have at least three bedrooms !
Freaking gorgeous. That view is just amazing. Fucking love the TO.
They need to keep the prices low, so the rooms stay small. But almost every condo has larger rooms if you want more space, they just cost alot more. And considering how close you are to downtown, all the condo amenities you’re given and that gorgeous view, it might just be worth it.
For what?
Ah Nick – Go FUCK YOUR SELF – SHIT HEAD ! ! !
Fuck me? Fuck you mother fucker. See, i can say vulgarities too. And for what? We’re talking about condos.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha ! I – G O T – Y O U – S U C K E R ! ! ! ! ! !
More to the point, so the profit margin stays high. More units per floor at the highest possible acceptable price means more profit per square foot.
Staging for demographics: Males, Single, Age 20 – 35.
Obvious with the masculine staging’s lack of warmth.
In 2015, why market to just men?
