Fountain Heads: old-fashioned milkshakes and floats are back, this time with grown-up ingredients
Summer’s the time to revel in childhood eating habits, and at the top of the naughty list are awesomely junky milkshakes and floats. A recent mini-resurgence of old-fashioned soda shops and diners inspired us to taste-test the city’s most delicious ice cream concoctions. Here are our favourites.
I have to admit that 1 out of 11 being east of Yonge st is really, really humorous. So…no one in the east end is making (good) milkshakes?
i echo your comment.
Pedro, aside from the rare brunch-gasm over Leslieville, the east side is invisible to TL. They seem traumatized by going over the DVP.
That said, these are none of them very attractive, and a food truck? Really? Because my idea of fun is supposed to be driving all over to stand in a parking lot inhaling diesel fumed and sucking back the fad du jour? I think not. Food trucks are useful in remote craft services situations, but not when there’s any other option.
huh ? i get the point of your first statement Alecta and i believe i can muster up the gist of your second point, maybe, but wtfuzz does that have to do with good milkshakes in the east or the west ?
