The food

Inspired by the popularity of Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecake and Tsujiri’s matcha menu, Liu decided to introduce the city to Japanese sandwiches. The club sandwich–style creations are stacked with fried pork cutlets, teriyaki chicken and soy-glazed pork belly, as well as Japanese condiments like wasabi mayonnaise and tonkatsu sauce.

Tonkatsu pork sandwich with cabbage, tomato and a house-made tonkatsu sauce ($9.99). Guests can pay an extra $2 to make any sandwich a combo with fries and a pop.

Teppanyaki teriyaki chicken burger with provolone, lettuce, tomato and wasabi mayo. $10.99.

Red wine–braised beef sandwich with sautéed onions, mushrooms, lettuce and provolone cheese. $13.99.

The drinks

Various fruit and milk teas (extras like tapioca, red bean and lychee jelly can be added) and slushy drinks (matcha, mango). Teara Lab also carries the full line of Ramuné, a carbonated soft drink from Japan that’s known for its codd-neck bottle.

Ramuné soft drinks. $3.49 each.

From front to back: matcha red bean slush ($5.20), lemon fruit tea ($4.70) and green tea creama ($5).

The space

The bare-bones room can seat 20, but the sandwiches are also available to go.
