Rosewater Supper Club: Prized for its back-door entrance

Each day of the 2008 film festival, Toronto Life will introduce one of TIFF’s hot spot restaurants. We inquire about the vibe, the celebs who dine there and, of course, the food. Today’s special: Rosewater Supper Club.

The usual suspects: Bay Street brokers and temperamental brides-to-be.

Celebrities in the mix: This year alone, Mark Ruffalo, Greg Kinnear, Alan Alda, Deepa Mehta and Preity Zinta visited.

Why here and not another venue? The Rosewater has a long history with the film festival and was one of the first venues to receive an extended liquor licence. There’s also a private back entrance for discreet ins and outs.

Signature dishes: Ontario-raised bison rib-eye and oven-roasted duck (also from Ontario) marinated in tequila.—Jen McNeely

Rosewater Supper Club, 19 Toronto St. (at Adelaide St. E.), 416-214-5888.
