It’s All GRK ★½ 756 Queen St. W., 416-703-7888

We’ve updated our star ratings system since this article was first published. Read more about the change here, and find the up-to-date rating in our restaurant listings.

Queen West’s new souvlaki shop takes an upscale approach to casual Greek staples: the room is adorned with gleaming olive oil tins and Edison bulbs strung on blue and orange ropes. The simple menu—four meats, four ways, with a choice of salads or starchy sides—allows the ingredients’ impeccable freshness to shine through.

One gut-busting dinner platter includes beefteki (juicy, herbaceous ground beef patties), lemon-tinged rice, fries, salad and potatoes baked to a near-creamy consistency. Pork gyros burst with tender chunks of roasted belly and shoulder, raw onions, tomatoes and a few crispy hand-cut fries. The lemon oil poured overtop is pure sunshine. Everything comes with an excellent house-made tzatizki that’s thicker than a milkshake and shot through with crunchy cucumber ribbons.
