Calgary-based Jelly Modern Doughnuts opened a pink-and-white shop on College Street in June, the chain’s first in Toronto. Less than six months later, it’s expanding with a new mini-store in Pusateri’s, the gourmet grocer at Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue (a Toronto food truck is apparently also in the works). The outfit is known for its innovative creations, like last summer’s Bollywood-themed pastry (decorated with candied carrot curls) and this month’s Hanukkah special, a traditional cherry-filled sufganiyot in Israeli blue-and-white. Uptowners looking for a sugar fix can pick up the goodies starting this Saturday, November 30. [Chowhound]
