The food

Simple, traditional, made-to-order tacos in flavour combos typically found in Mexico City (where Roe has helped open a few taquerías). Everything on the gluten-free menu is prepared on the griddle, including the the fresh-pressed tortillas made using corn imported from Mexico.

Ceviche served with house-made corn chips. $8.

Choriqueso quesadilla: house-made chorizo and Oaxaca cheese in a corn tortilla, served with house-made chili sauce. $6.50.

Tinga de pollo: chicken in a morita-pepper sauce on avocado purée. $4.50.

For dessert, flan de queso made with cream cheese. $4.

The drinks

Sangria, one house wine, a few simple cocktails, bottled beer and Coca-Cola imported from Mexico and house-made aguas frescas.

Aguas frescas: horchata (back) made with rice, milk and cinnamon, and jamaica (front), a hibiscus-based beverage. $2.50 each.
