VIDEO: Vice’s Munchies series gets Guu-y for its second Toronto video

For the second round of its Toronto sojourn, Vice‘s Munchies crew stopped by Church Street’s Guu Izakaya. While Jen Agg praised her cooks in the last episode, Guu operations manager and executive chef Masaru Ogasawara gives props to Toronto in this one. The loud cheer that greets each patron? It’s like a thank-you to the city (that and Ogasawara just plain enjoys being loud). The Guu crew sets the boozy tone early with a shot of sake, and continues the trend with stops at Enoteca Sociale and Toronto Temperance Society. Predictably, the best stuff comes after the drinking: Ogasawara ends up (literally) I-love-you-guys drunk, while Guu’s manager croons softly over the credits.
