It’s been a while since downtown Toronto was blessed with a new beer hall, but that changes this weekend, when Everyside Social Eatery and Taphouse opens at the base of the Richmond-Adelaide Centre (and in the shadow of Jaume Plensa’s giant head sculpture).

Warm Welcome—the team behind Melrose Tavern, Saint John’s Tavern and Piccolo Café—is continuing its takeover of Adelaide Street West with this latest watering hole, which also happens to be a brewery.

The concept grew out of Everyside’s line of brews—an amber, a lager and an IPA—which have been available for purchase at Piccolo since last year. They’ll be on tap at the restaurant alongside a collaboration beer, a rotating sour and a selection of local offerings from other Toronto-based breweries, including Godspeed, Burdock, Muddy York and Left Field.

Opening just a bit farther east from the brand’s other venues, Everyside promises the same vibes as its sister locations: a neighbourhood hangout where the drinks flow and the plates are made for sharing. The diverse food menu lists things like grilled Miami short ribs, wings, tacos, burgers and pizza.

Everyside opens this Friday, August 22, a few doors down from the Cactus Club and behind Chefs Hall. There’s nothing like a little healthy competition, right?
