The group behind The Chase, Little Fin, Colette and Kasa Moto is opening yet another restaurant—and this one, unlike the others, has a completely meat-free menu. Steven Salm, president of the Chase Hospitality Group says that Planta will move into Pangaea’s old Yorkville address at 1221 Bay St., and David Lee (Nota Bene) will be the executive chef. “It’s not going to be a restaurant that caters exclusively to vegetarians or vegans—we’re not out to convert people from the way they currently eat,” says Salm. “It’s just going to provide an amazing alternative to what’s out there in the city already.” Planta should be open in time for TIFF.
