American election predictions from Conrad Black

The Globe reported on its Web site yesterday that Lord Black of Crossharbour has sent a Dear Paul letter to Paul Waldie (the Globe’s lead Conrad reporter), assuring him that, despite his current condition, he continues to assert his stalwart, undying commitment to being, well, himself.

One interesting note: in response to a question from Waldie about the current presidential contest, Black writes, “I have always thought Obama would implode and I don’t think he can survive the Wright business.” Which is fine except that he’s dead wrong. The vast majority of observers with even a wavering EEG think Clinton’s playing out the string waiting for a miracle, but is unlikely to get it.

Pop quiz: This line of thinking is oddly reminiscent of which currently incarcerated member of the peerage?
