The contenders in today’s TIFF red-carpet fashion poll:
Blake Lively: This Chanel frock is spectacular, but scarlet sequins (or is that red cling wrap?) are hard to pull off. We’d love to see this dress on someone like Marion Cotillard, but on Lively—especially with red lipstick and heels—the look is more showgirl than chic. Marion Cotillard is so stunning she could wear the most boring dress on the planet and look beautiful. Oh, wait. This total snoozer of an outfit (by Lefranc Ferrant) is saved by butt-kicking accessories—we’re loving the Dior booties and watch. Alexis Bledel: Is granny chic the unofficial dress code of this year’s festival? Another unmemorable fashion moment. We would rather she wore her travelling pants. Rebecca Hall: You’re probably thinking that we’re an unforgiving bunch, but seriously, ladies, what is with the subpar sartorial efforts? Call us anti-communist, but we can’t get on board with an outfit that looks as though it was fashioned from a Che Guevara flag, especially when it’s a hideous pantsuit. Worst outfit at TIFF thus far.
