Michael Pitt, who stars as Jimmy Darmody in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, has been cast as Mary Pickford’s first husband, Owen Moore (the one she dumps for Douglas Fairbanks), in The First, a biopic about the Canadian starlet and Hollywood pioneer. The movie hasn’t been shot yet—but that didn’t stop Al Pacino’s daughter Julie from throwing a party in its honour at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on Friday (this is TIFF after all). Last night, Pitt was spotted having dinner and drinks at Queen West’s Church Aperitivo with the film’s producers. Later, he was seen at the after-party for Spring Breakers at Brassaii, hanging with that movie’s stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, as well as Darren Criss and Natasha Lyonne from Imogene.
