New TIFF News: eight galas and 17 special presentations added to the roster

The TIFF news keeps pouring in, with the festival announcing today the addition of eight galas (those splashy parties everyone wants to crash) and 17 special presentations, totalling 25 additions, 14 of which are world premieres. This brings the final number of galas this season to 20 (that’s a whole lot of free champagne) and the number of special presentations to 67. At TIFF, there’ll be a star for everyone, like brawny action dudes Jason Statham, Clive Owen (who has two movies premiering) and Gerard Butler, French actress Catherine Deneuve (so engaging we’d watch her eat Kraft dinner and do laundry), TV stars Adam Brody and Alexis Bledel (who taught us that the best way to solve complex teen problems is to talk really, really fast) and mega-stars Robert DeNiro, Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage.
