Getting the chance to come face-to-face with a favourite celebrity at a TIFF red-carpet gala usually involves camping out for hours with hoards of other eager fans. And even then, there’s no guarantee that the star won’t just give a quick wave and walk right on by. We asked some dedicated stargazers awaiting Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell at Friday’s Welcome to Me premiere about their most heart-wrenching close calls with visiting glitterati. Here, four Torontonians lament “the one that got away.”
