Ads for pornography better than actual porn

We’re always looking for ways to write about dirty stuff. That’s why we were so happy to see these ads for Amour, a company offering three porn channels (Red Hot TV, Hustler TV and Playboy TV) on Manitoba’s MTS TV. The ads, which have already garnered a quarter million views on YouTube, feature big-breasted blondes flatly delivering such typically pornish lines as “It’s getting hot in here” and “Room for one more in that hot tub?” followed by the tag line “You won’t watch for the acting.”

We have to give Amour credit for the ads—they’re clever. But isn’t advertising porn redundant? The kind of person who’d be apt to subscribe to a channel dedicated to porn likely already has. And really, isn’t it all a bit passé? Hasn’t Amour heard of this newfangled porn-delivery system called the Internet? At least they’re not making ads for VHS releases.
