A lot of things can go wrong for a Toronto homeowner these days, but this really sucks: a house in the Junction partially collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, thanks to a botched renovation. Contractors were working to extend the ceiling of the basement when the foundation wall started to go, causing the house to lean over (it stopped about an inch from the neighbour’s wall). No one was injured, but the building will have to be demolished, beginning today, to avoid an unfortunate Domino-like toppling of century-old homes. Bummer.  [Toronto Star]
